Ilagan City, Isabela - One of the highlights of this year's celebration of the Bambanti (scarecrow) Festival is the opening yesterday of the Bambanti Village, and the agri-eco tourism and trade exhibit at the Capitol Compound's Isabela Sports Complex.
Governor Faustino "Bojie" Dy III, and Vice Governor Antonio Albano led the opening of the Bambanti Village that showcases the various products of the 37 municipalities, and three cities, while colorful scarecrows were also added as attraction.

ILAGAN CITY, Isabela, January 16 (PIA) - Local government officials and employees together with national government-based agencies in Isabela are busy preparing for this year's Bambanti (scarecrow) festival which is set on January 27-31, 2013.
In an executive meeting conducted on Tuesday led by vice governor Antonio Albano, they already laid out some proposed activities and at the same time created standing committees to ensure the successful festival celebration.
The governor of the Province of Isabela, Hon. Faustino G. Dy III and some major players in the province had a meeting with Guangxi officials and businessmen, led by Guangxi Governor Chen Wu, during the Chinese-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) Promotion Conference held at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel in Makati on July 16, 2013.
The Province of Isabela will be featured as City of Charm in this year’s 10th CAEXPO.
The province of Isabela has kept its title as Top Corn Producer in the Philippines for 2012. It placed 2nd in rice production.
In his year-end report, Agriculture Regional Director Lucrecio Alviar reported that the province of Isabela contributed the most to the 1.6 million MT aggregate corn production of Cagayan Valley producing 1,049,954 MT, Nueva Vizcaya with 218,446 MT, and Quirino with 73, 423 MT.Batanes production was not reflected in the report. Isabela's rice production was 1,068,275 metric tons.
