With the Rice Tarrification Law, marginalized rice farmers with areas of tillage of 2.0 has. and below could not compete with the low prices of rice coming from Vietnam and Thailand.  As an answer to their woes, a “Super Cooperative” was established that would cater to a huge number of marginalized farmers around 70,000.

Through the cooperative’s Palay Procurement Program, the provincial government will purchase the palay produced by the members of the cooperative with an additional premium price of P5.00 per kilo to the farm gate price for every 80 sacks. The members will gain access to the following benefits: free transportation of rice grain from their farm to the NMIAC storage facilities; enrollment membership in SSS with two years of premium subsidized; membership application for PAG-IBIG Fund which will provide them the opportunity to avail housing loan; and their children will also be enrolled in the Bojie-Rodito Opportunities for Education Scholarship Program.
